Zero Tolerance Zt 0350 Review

The predecessor to the Zero Tolerance 0300, the ZT 0350 is 10% lighter and smaller but is fully equipped with all of the bells and whistles that you would expect from a Zero Tolerance folder. It has SpeedSafe that makes one-handed assisted opening a breeze even with bulky combat gloves on because of the relatively large ambidextrous studs or with the protrusion flipper. The Overall length of the ZT 0350 is still almost 8 inches which might be a bit large for some but fits most guys perfectly. The “thwack” that you get every time you open it definitely makes a statement muck like a “tick” that you hear when clicking the safety off your handgun. It is a great EDC with a strong and dependable blade. It’s going to be your best friend whether you’re opening boxes at work or a game that you just shot on the weekends.

The ZT 0350
blade is a modified drop-point S30V stainless steel blade. You have a choice between a plain or partially serrated edge depending on your preference of course. It is a quarter inch longer than most every day carry folders (3 inches) and the 0.12 inch thickness also makes it a bit bulkier. Although there are some variations, some ZT 03500 comes with a Tungsten DLC coating. DLC or diamond like carbon not only makes the blade look cool but drastically improves its durability, hardness and makes it non-reflective which is quite useful for tactical uses. The DLC coating also decreases friction drag further improving the performance of the blade. But when we talk blade, we also need to talk about the type of metal used. CPM S30V stainless steel has a very high resistance from corrosion and every day wear and tear which makes it one of the premium steels that is used on blades. Widely considered as one of the very best blade steel available, it is often used for custom or high-end knives which should give you an idea of exactly what the ZT 0350 is.

The handle of the ZT 0350 is 4.62 inches long and a solid 0.50 inch thick. It is probably as thick as you can go without looking like a showoff carrying it around the office. But all kidding aside, the hefty handle has a great design that gives you a great deal of control and comfort when handling it normally or even with a reverse grip. The flat textured G-10 scales improves the grip thus safety of the knife and the stainless steel liners makes sure that it doesn’t buckle even when you get a bit exited gripping it. The frame and scales have some pretty aggressive jimping both at the pommel and thumb rise making sure that you have complete control in any scenario. The pocket clip is a ZT’s Quad-mount system which allows you to pocket however you like further giving you that personalized touch.

They relatively thick blade and handle not only makes it feel stronger, it also makes you feel a bit manlier handling it. The fact that it’s made in the US is simply icing on the cake.
